Overview

Wellington is looking to add an additional Field Property Adjuster to our staff in Houston, TX. This role is responsible for inspecting residential dwellings for property damage around the South East and North East Houston, TX area. This role requires independent work out of a home office with a significant portion of time commuting to investigate claims. Wellington provides a company vehicle and all of the equipment necessary for you to be successful.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Meet with policyholders to inspect/appraise damages to dwellings, other structures and personal property.  Inspect all areas of the property, identify damages, properly document the risk and estimate the damages identified.
  • Communicate professionally, both in writing and verbally, with internal and external customers regarding inspections/appraisals.
  • Prepare diagrams, scope of damages and estimates utilizing Xactimate software. 
  • Effectively manage diary system and file inventory.
  • Identify Subrogation and Salvage opportunities.
  • Occasional catastrophe duty or other weather-related duty within the State of Texas.
  • Perform technical reviews of appraiser and contractor property damage estimates.
  • Maintain current knowledge of regulations, codes, industry activity and trends.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of 4 years of outside property adjusting experience.
  • Experience using Xactimate and XactAnalysis.
  • Ability to work independently and provide outstanding customer service.
  • Associate degree (A.A. or A.S.) or equivalent from a two-year college, business school, or technical school. Bachelor’s Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a four-year college or university highly preferred. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Texas Property/Casualty Adjuster license.
  • Fluency in Spanish preferred.
