  • Overview

    Wellington Insurance Group is currently seeking an experienced Product Analyst to join its team. This individual will be responsible for providing Analytical Support, Product Analysis, and Data Management. In order to be successful, this individual must possess a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel with a working knowledge of, or ability to learn, Access, SQL and VBA. Strong knowledge of Florida residential property, preferred.

    Responsibilities

    Duties include, but are not limited to:

     

    Analytical Support

    • Provide regular and ad hoc reporting for senior management, as well as other departments within the organization.
    • Collect and refine appropriate data for actuarial analysis and ensure its reasonableness and accuracy.
    • Perform preliminary actuarial and statistical analysis.
    • Assist in development of models to support business needs. Analyze data and calculate the probability and costs associated with certain events.
    • Document and communicate assumptions, results, and alternatives to actuarial department.

    Product Analysis

    • Build and maintain raters for Wellington products to allow for manual calculation of rates and competitive analysis. 
    • Provide competitive position support through analysis of competitor filings. Build and maintain raters for competitor programs and summarize competitive position by product and jurisdiction.
    • Provide testing and validation, in collaboration with IT, for program and rate changes.
    • Create documents detailing program changes to internal and external parties.

    Data Management

    • Collaborate with product, marketing, actuarial group, and IT to increase efficiency of reporting and analysis.
    • Assist in the development and maintenance of analytical tools and models using Microsoft Excel, VBA, SQL and other relevant programs. 
    • Assist in completion and testing of data warehouse in collaboration with IT.
    • Determine data and tools needed to achieve accurate, meaningful end results.
    • Manage information for Business Unit.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Required Education and Experience

    • Minimum of 2 years relevant work experience in a business environment.
    • Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university in math, statistics or finance.
    • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Programming/application development experience, or applicable educational coursework, preferred.
    • Working knowledge of the Insurance or finance industry, preferred.
    • Strong knowledge of Florida residential property, preferred.
